Description
B Braun Prontosan Debridement Pad for Necrotic Tissue Removal (10pcs)
The Prontosan Debridement Pad is designed to offer a new safe, effective and gentle solution for patients with severe chronic wounds. It is made of polyester and polypropylene, is 3mm thin in thickness and has an 80cm2 pad. It consists of a microfiber front layer and an absorbent support layer for fast, effective and safe removal of necrotic tissue and bacteria. According to clinical cases it has been shown to free the wound from bacteria (biofilm), dead cell debris and absorb excess exudate. The tissue remains intact and pain and discomfort are minimized for the patient during application.
Prontosan Debridement Pad is ideal for chronic wounds including pressure (bedsore) ulcers, venous ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers. It requires no special training and can be used in hospitals by professionals or at home by people of any skill level.
Microfibre Technology for Greater Efficiency in the Wound Healing

The Prontosan Debridement Pad consists of a flexible, hydrophilic material containing microfibres. What are microfibers? Microfiber is a fibrous structure that effectively captures all particles. Microfibers are more effective at cleaning than traditional fibers because of their size and structure. Microfibers are very small and use "electrostatic forces" to attract even the smallest particles to them. Each microfiber has a multi-strand structure, allowing for the removal of many more particles and debris. There are millions of microfibers in each Prontosan® Debridement Pad for greater removal power of debris and biofilm that is retained on the disc and the tissue remains intact. If the forces of mechanical cleaning were visible, it would be possible to observe that there are adhesive forces between microfibers and particles. In addition, the hydrophilic composition of the Prontosan Debridement Pad absorbs excess exudate.
Its Shape Allows it to Reach Hard-to-Reach Areas

Thanks to the unique drop-like shape of the Prontosan Debridement Pad it can be used on multiple types of wounds including wounds in hard-to-reach areas. Edge-to-edge microfibers on the disc ensure quick and gentle cleaning by creating a clean wound bed while leaving tissues intact. Prontosan Debridement Pad is designed to support the rapid healing of a wound in combination with Prontosan Wound Irrigation Solution or normal sodium chloride or distilled water.
