B. Braun Prontosan Wound Gel 30ml – Amorphous Gel with 0.1% Polyhexanide & 0.1% Betaine

Prontosan Wound Gel is used in burns and traumatic wounds, thermal wounds, chemical wounds, wounds caused by radiation and ulcers (venous, diabetic, decubitus).

Prontosan® Wound Gel is a ready-to-use gel containing 0.1% Polyhexanide, Betaine, Glycerol and Hydroxyethylcellulose. It contributes in cleaning, disinfection and hydration of acute and chronic wounds.It prevents the creation of the biofilm as well as contributes to the reduction of the bacterial load. It does not inhibit granulation and epithelization.

Biofilm consists of bacteria that adhere to a surface, forming a colony. These colonies are created by many pathogenic microorganisms and their goal is to increase protection from external factors, using various survival strategies that bypass immune system mechanisms, making them more resistant! They constantly infect the wound and spread to the surrounding surface, making healing even more difficult.

Prontosan Wound Gel is a fluid hydrogel ideal for deep wounds such as fistulas, hard-to-reach cavities and 1st and 2nd degree burns. On the contrary, Prontosan Wound Gel X is an extremely viscous hydrogel, suitable for large superficial wounds such as ulcers and 3rd and 4th degree burns.
