Is it an abdominal binder or a back support?

According to PRIM it is a lumbar support belt: 2 plastic stays at the back give lumbar stability and the front velcro adjusts the pressure on the abdomen.

According to the manufacturer, it is indicated for mild to moderate lumbago, postoperative and postpartum use, muscle weakness and early-stage degenerative processes. Use it on your doctor's advice.

According to PRIM's instructions: fasten all the velcro before washing, hand wash, no bleach, tumble drying or ironing.

How many hours a day do I wear it?

Your doctor decides. The belt is worn on their advice, and they also say for how long; if your symptoms persist, talk to them.
