The PRIM PS200 is a forefoot offloading post-op shoe: the heel sits at the back of the foot so that the forefoot stays free and offloaded, as PRIM describes it.

Who it is for

  • Manufacturer's indications: according to the manufacturer, after surgery on the forefoot and toes, and for a foot with immobilising bandages or a plaster cast.
  • On your orthopaedic doctor's advice: use it after surgery or with a cast only as your orthopaedic doctor advises; they will also tell you for how long.
  • Left or right foot: it is ambidextrous and fits either foot.

Basic safe-use tips

Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use. For example:

  • Wear the shoe only as your orthopaedic doctor has advised, and for as long as they tell you.
  • PRIM recommends a shoe of the same height on the other foot, so that the pelvis stays level.
  • According to PRIM's instructions, do not wear it in the bath or shower or while sleeping at night; it is for use by one patient.
  • If you feel numbness, tingling, pain or pressure, loosen the fastening and talk to your doctor.
  • Walk carefully for the first steps, until you get used to the sole.

No. It is sold singly (one shoe), according to the MOBIAK page, and it is ambidextrous, so it fits whichever foot you need.

PRIM recommends a shoe of the same height on the other foot, so that your pelvis stays level when you walk.

According to PRIM, the PS200 has a heel at the back and leaves the forefoot free and offloaded, with slight dorsiflexion and an ankle strap. The PS100 is an open post-op shoe with a reinforced heel, for a foot in a cast. Your orthopaedic doctor will tell you which one you need.

Your orthopaedic doctor decides this, depending on the operation or injury. Follow their instructions and, if anything bothers you, talk to them.

According to PRIM's instructions: fasten the velcro, wash by hand in cold water with mild soap, rinse well and dry at room temperature; no bleach, tumble drying, ironing, dry cleaning or heat sources.
