Description

The PRIM NA410 is a drop foot splint worn inside the shoe (Rancho de los Amigos type antiequino) with a full sole, for the left foot, which limits plantar flexion at 90° during the swing phase of gait.

Who it is for

Manufacturer's indications: according to the manufacturer, for drop foot caused by neurological conditions (e.g. peroneal nerve palsy or after a stroke) and ankle instability.
On professional advice: it is used on the advice of your doctor or physiotherapist, who also sets how many hours a day.

Ways to use it

In the stance phase: according to PRIM it leaves the foot some flexibility when you stand on it.
In the swing phase: it limits plantar flexion at 90°, so the front of the foot does not drop.
Fixing: with padding and velcro at the calf and a foot strap; it fits inside the shoe.

Basic safe-use tips

Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use. For example:

According to the manufacturer, it is not suitable for a varus or valgus hindfoot or for spastic paralysis.
Do not expose it to heat sources or put external pressure on it, according to PRIM's instructions.
The manufacturer advises checking the splint at least every 6 months.
If you feel numbness, tingling, pain or skin irritation, loosen the strap and talk to your doctor.
