HYPOALLERGENIC FILTERS, 2 PACK · ResMed AirSense 11
The standard filter stops dust.
This one stops the fine stuff too.
The standard AirSense 11 filter stops coarse particles and protects the device. The hypoallergenic one is denser and captures over 80% of the fine fraction as well — which is where common household allergens sit. Same slot, same motion, one difference.

THE REAL PROBLEM
The filter is
the most forgotten consumable.
The water tub is visible. The tube is handled every night. The filter, though, sits behind a cover nobody opens, and nothing on the screen tells you it is dirty. So it stays there for a year, or two, until someone remembers. By then it has darkened, air passes less easily, and the device works harder to deliver the same pressure — without you noticing.
Denser material, same slot
The hypoallergenic filter is made from blended synthetic fibres in a polypropylene shell, polyester-free, and it is noticeably denser than the standard one. That density is what lets it hold over 80% of fine particles as well. It fits the same slot as the standard filter, with no tools and no setting to change on the device. ResMed specifies replacement every 6 months — put it in the calendar, because the machine will not remind you.
Which machines it fits
The 11 series filter is a different shape from the 10 series one. This is not a matter of adapting it — it does not seat properly.

In practice
1
What it does and does not do
The filter captures particles from the air entering the device. It is not a treatment and does not replace medication or your doctor's advice on allergies.
2
Replacement
Every 6 months per ResMed. Check it monthly and replace it sooner if it has darkened, shows visible dust, or is torn.
3
Single use
Not washable, not reusable. Water breaks down the fibre structure and the filter stops holding the fine fraction.
4
Fitting
Into the same slot as the standard filter, no tools needed. Do not run the device without a filter.
Four things worth knowing
🎯
Over 80% capture
Coarse and fine particles alike. The fine fraction is the one that stays suspended in the room and passes through open-weave filters.
🧬
Polyester-free
Blended synthetic fibres in a polypropylene shell. A genuine ResMed part, made to the tolerances of the AirSense 11 slot.
👤
Pack of 2
At six-month intervals this covers a full year for one machine. The sensible choice for a single user at home.
🔁
Replace every 6 months
The manufacturer's own guidance. Check it monthly: if it has darkened or torn, replace it without waiting for the six months.
Four things people ask before ordering
🆚
“How is it different from the standard one?”
Density. The standard filter catches coarse particles; the hypoallergenic one catches the fine ones too, over 80%.
🔎
“I have an AirSense 10. Will it fit?”
No. Different shape. The AirSense 10, Lumis and S9 take parts 36856 and 36857.
💦
“Can I wash it?”
No. It is single use. Water breaks down the fibre structure and you lose exactly what you bought it for.
📦
“Which pack?”
This page is the 2 pack — a year of cover for one machine. All three packs hold the same filter.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference from the standard filter?
It comes down to density. The standard AirSense 11 filter stops coarse particles — dust, lint, small insects — and protects the device. The hypoallergenic one is noticeably denser and captures over 80% of fine airborne particles as well, which is the fraction where common household allergens sit. The material is blended synthetic fibres in a polypropylene shell, polyester-free. The fitting is identical: same slot, same motion.
I have an AirSense 10. Will this fit?
No. The AirSense 11 filter is a different shape from the 10 series one and does not seat properly. The AirSense 10, AirCurve 10, Lumis and S9 take the hypoallergenic filters 36856 (2 pack) and 36857 (12 pack), which are a different product. The model is printed on the device itself — if you cannot find it, send us a photo.
How often should I replace it?
ResMed specifies replacement every 6 months. Check it monthly though: if it has darkened, if there is visible dust, or if it is torn, replace it straight away rather than waiting for the six months. In a home with pets, on a busy road, or during high pollen season it will soil faster. A blocked filter makes the device work harder without you noticing.
Can I wash it?
No. It is a single-use filter: not washable, not rinsable, not reusable. Water breaks down the fibre structure and the filter loses precisely what you bought it for — the ability to hold fine particles. If it is dirty, replace it.
Which pack should I buy?
At six-month intervals, the 2 pack covers a year for one machine — the sensible choice for a single user at home. The 12 pack gives a better price per filter and makes sense if you have more than one machine, if you rent devices out, or if your environment calls for more frequent changes. The 50 pack is clinic or home-care provider size. All three packs contain exactly the same filter.
Will the machine get louder, or will my pressure drop?
The hypoallergenic filter is denser than the standard one, so it presents slightly more resistance to flow. The device is designed to run with either and compensates for the difference, which is why the pressure you receive does not change in practice. If you do notice a clear change in noise or airflow, the likely cause is that the filter is blocked and due for replacement, not the type of filter.
