What is provided by EOPYY for ileostomy materials?
According to the latest EOPYY benefit regulations, the costs for ileostomy products covered by the organization are as follows:
- For a permanent ileostomy , a medical certificate is issued for a period of six months, while for a temporary ileostomy, a certificate is issued for a period of three months. In both cases, they must be renewed by a doctor whose specialty is relevant to the condition.
- The opinion must be considered within ten days of its issuance by a supervising physician of the hospital where the prescription was made or by a Health Center (HCC) in the area.
- The medical opinion must also be executed within ten days of its issuance.
- Reimbursement of all ileostomy materials is made to contracted providers of EOPYY . If there is no EOPYY contract with a provider for a product, then the beneficiary will be reimbursed based on the medical opinion and the purchase invoice, which must indicate the unit price and total quantity.
- The compensation price cannot be higher than the price set by EOPYY in the latest publication in the Government Gazette.
- The patient has no involvement in the ileostomy materials provided.
- After the latest decision of the National Institute of Health, the allocated pieces of ileostomy materials can be adjusted monthly only when a justified medical opinion has been provided.
Be careful with skin cleansing and protection products
According to the GOVERNMENT GAZETTE (GOVERNMENT GAZETTE 4898 t B 2018 – NEW E.K.P.Y 01 11 2018 ), the attending physician may prescribe up to 4 units in total of the following products:
- Liquid skin cleanser
- Skin protectant in spray form
- Sealing paste tube or stick
- Skin irritation treatment products
For administration exceeding 4 pieces of the above , approval from the SSC (Supreme Health Council) is required .
